The 50th Tompkins County Sports Council Football Luncheon series will commence on Thursday, Sept. 10. It will be the first of nine luncheons, with the “bye” week occurring on Oct. 15. The luncheons will take place starting at 11:45 a.m. at The Fraternal Order of Eagles, located at 161 Cecil Malone Drive in Ithaca. The cost for all nine luncheons is $180.

Each week, the head football coaches at Ithaca High School (Johnnie Akins), Ithaca College (Brandon Maguire) and Cornell University (Dan Swanstrom) will sit down to talk about the previous week’s games and look ahead to their next matchups. The other five head coaches of the Tompkins County high school football teams will also stop by throughout the fall to talk about how their seasons are going along with other guests.

The Tompkins County Sports Council is a not-for-profit organization. All profits go directly back to the six high school football programs in the county. Last year, those programs received $8,000.

To purchase tickets, reach out to Dave Wohlhueter by phone at 607-273-5891 or by email at [email protected], or through any member of the Tompkins County Sports Council Committee: Mike Welch, Clarence Welch, Jeremy Hartigan, Sally Hoyt, Mark Anbinder, Bob Slocum, Dan Jones and Bella Glidden.
